The Skin Horse had great wisdom when he told the Velvetine Rabbit on how it is to become REAL. I didn't find the story of the Velvetine Rabbit until I was 56 years old. I wasn't read to as a child and we were very poor and dysfunctional. I find it absolutely phenomenal to be able to understand that becoming REAL requires a great deal of time and patience. It is critical to be polite and honest to all who come in contact with me....even those with sharp edges and difficult personalities.
